My Xbox has been neglected much as of late. I have been using it, indeed, but my iMac has been engaged with me far more over the past few weeks. World of Warcraft has been my MMOG of choice for several years now and my enthusiasm for it has waxed and waned, entirely dependent on the Magic 8-Ball that is my consciousness. As it stands now, my hot-to-trot moocow barbarian has been making the arduous climb from 50 to 58 so that I can experience the incendiary crags and lush floating islands of post-trauma Draenor anew. Thusly, even amongst such stellar releases as Bionic Commando: Rearmed, Fable II Pub Games, and Soul Calibur IV, I find myself drawn to the majestic polymer portal of ebony and ivory to sate the blood thirst of Warlord Baressina Gorehowl.

WoW stands not alone as an agent of the poisoning of my time. Disneyland, realm of luminous dreams, has accepted me into it’s bosom once already this week, and looks to do so again twice more in coming days. Through it’s witchcraft I was able to not only indulge in such glamours as Space Mountain and Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage, but able to do so without waiting in the 45-80 minute lines. Hooray for random, brief, and completely not inconvenient ride malfunctions that, apparently, net me a magic fastpass for any ride in the park.

As my schedule stands I need to do one of two things in order to make my week be anything more than what it has been of late: Nothing.

1) Resist the siren’s call of Disneyland on Thursday and settle for a mere two visits this week, allowing me to cram in some quality time with the wife (Xbox) and kids (Xbox games).

2) Find some way to inject myself with plasmids and pull myself out of the lethargic funk that drags my greaves of flesh so heavily through every gray day.

With each day that passes I check the usual sites for my bits of meat and gravy: Kotaku, GamesRadar, GameTrailers and the like. Each time I do so I am very subtly reminded that Rare did indeed create a sequel to Viva Pinata and that it is, indeed, coming out very, very soon. My boyfriend is bloody ecstatic to this end. His enthusiasm for VP was not unlike John Hammond’s zeal for doomed ice cream. I, too, look forward to the title. I did not gnaw down to the bone as ravenously as my one and true, but I did derive great joy from the time I had with it and look forward to a fresh, yet similar iteration.

Oh yeah, and there’s Fable II. Fable burned me, though. Let’s be honest. If Molyneux, genius as he is, hadn’t hyped up Fable so goddamn much and then failed to deliver on most (if not all) points, I might be bouncing off the fucking walls right now. As it stands now, however, I can only pray and hope for the best. So far, honestly, things are looking sunny... But if I learned anything from living in Upstate New York, the weather can change in approximately none seconds.
